The intervention is located in a residential building constructed in 1939 with recognized heritage value. The structure is characterized by high ceilings, ornamental detailing, abundant sunlight, and an excessive fragmentation of interior spaces. The proposal reorganizes the dwelling by removing partitions, generating larger, more flexible, and connected spaces that respond to the specific needs of the new occupants. The project restores and highlights original features, respects the building’s constructive logic, and simultaneously evokes a balanced atmosphere.

The interior design combines neutral tones, natural wood, and soft chromatic accents, seeking visual and tactile continuity throughout the various rooms. Contemporary furniture is integrated seamlessly into the whole, while the choice of textiles and finishes adds warmth and a sense of domesticity. In the living room, a carefully curated selection of artworks introduces a chromatic and material counterpoint that reinforces the identity of the space. In particular, the design draws inspiration from the palette of Difusiones, a series by painter Fernando Romero, selected specifically for the project. These compositions blend subtle layers of color with diffuse, organic patterns. This artistic reference guides the selection of tones, materials, and textures in the living area, creating an atmosphere that amplifies natural light and enriches the sensory experience of inhabiting the space. The generous influx of light through large west-facing windows bathes the room in changing afternoon sunlight, enhancing the connection between interior and exterior and emphasizing the unique character of the ensemble.
